What does hertz actually measure?
Cycles per second. A 50 Hz mains supply alternates fifty times each second; a 3 GHz processor completes three billion clock cycles per second.
Why is CD audio 44.1 kHz?
Because the Nyquist theorem requires sampling at more than twice the highest frequency you want to capture. Human hearing tops out around 20 kHz, so 44.1 kHz provides adequate margin.
What is the difference between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi?
2.4 GHz travels further and penetrates walls better but is more congested and slower. 5 GHz offers higher throughput over shorter range. Most modern routers broadcast both.
Does a higher processor GHz mean a faster computer?
